The 8 mm #71 flat-seam foot is a reliable partner for flat seams and flat-lock seams on heavy fabrics.
Flat double seams can be sewn in two steps, for example on jeans or sportswear. To do this, the pieces are placed on top of each other with the appropriate seam allowance and sewn with a step line. A scoop on the left side of the foot tip holds the folded fabric in place for the second seam line. Since both seam allowances are enclosed in the seam with the 8 mm # 71 bartacking foot, the presser foot is also suitable for garments that can be worn on both sides.

 This foot is suitable for BERNINA machines manufactured before 1996.
