Now in its third generation, Thomas Kunze has been running Kunze AG BERNINA Baden since 2006 as a specialty store for BERNINA and bernette sewing machines, offering a wide selection of fashionable fabrics, haberdashery, buttons, and ribbons. What began in 1947 with the acquisition of the BERNINA sewing machine store in Baden by his grandfather, Edwin Kunze, has now grown into a company with two locations in Baden—one at Stoffgalerie, 7 Bahnhofplatz, and a sewing machine center of excellence at 23 Wettingerstrasse.

In addition to in-store consultations and sales of fabrics, haberdashery, sewing machines, and sewing furniture, we also offer sewing classes and a workshop where Thomas Kunze himself works as a technician in our in-house sewing machine repair service.

As a certified BERNINA partner, our sewing machine center at Wettingerstrasse 23 in Baden features the 3 Series, 4 Series, 5 Series, and 7 Series sewing machines, as well as products from the L4 and L8 serger series. In addition to our Q Series, which is also available on-site, we offer the largest selection of Aurifil quilting threads in Switzerland, as well as our bernette entry-level machines. In addition, this location is home to our workshop, our modern and well-lit sewing class instruction rooms, and the largest RMF sewing furniture showroom in Switzerland.

In our modern sewing machine workshop, we offer comprehensive service and repair work for household sewing machines and sergers of all brands. Because sustainability is important to us, our expertise also extends to sewing machines that are 50 years old or older.

We maintain a large inventory of replacement parts and—after prior consultation with our workshop—offer fast turnaround times of just two business days, so that seamstresses and tailors can get back to using their tools as quickly as possible.

Our customer service doesn’t end with the sale. Even after that, our long-standing and experienced staff are still here for you, so you can rest assured that your sewing machine is in the best hands.
