I am a trained dressmaker. I completed my apprenticeship at the Women's Technical College in Zurich in 1995. After that, I worked as a freelance dressmaker. I joined the Kunze AG course team in 2004 and have been teaching dressmaking courses ever since.
I sew on the Bernina 485, with the Bernina 1150 overlocker and the Bernina Cover L220.
I am a trained clothing designer specializing in women's clothing.
I really enjoy designing a garment to my liking from a piece of fabric. It's wonderful to be able to inspire people to sew and to be creative with them.
I am a trained clothing designer and certified stylist (SIF).
I consider myself fortunate to have realized my childhood dream through targeted further education and a great deal of commitment, and to be living my dream!
I am delighted to have been sharing my expertise as a clothing designer and textile technician (BA Textile Technology & Fashion Design) as a course instructor at Kunze AG since 2013. I specialize in the production of high-quality evening and wedding fashion, but I am also completely in my element when it comes to efficient techniques or the demanding creation of sewing patterns. I enjoy inspiring my course participants with simple tricks that give the garment that certain something and guarantee success.
(Privately, I prefer to sew cocktail dresses, baby clothes, or dirndls on my 430 and 555, and of course the 1110 D overlock machine.)
I have been sewing since I was little, with great enthusiasm. Back then, it was small Christmas gifts, but today it's big ones. For family members or sometimes orders from people who like my work.
My great passion for textiles really took hold 15 years ago. Before that, I used to sew clothes for my daughter.
I owe my decision to take up patchwork to batik fabrics. They inspired me to explore shapes and colors. I still remember my very first class well. Back then, I was a complete beginner.
But... I was hooked on fabric and wanted to learn more. Nowadays, I mainly attend courses in Germany with Pia Welsch.
Courses in Steckborn, where I mainly focus on the V7 embroidery software, help me to fully express my creativity on the sewing machine.
At the moment, I teach a small number of sewing classes at the upper and lower/middle school levels. I love motivating people of all ages to discover their creativity at the sewing machine and to have the courage to put it into practice. I really enjoy passing on my passion in our classes.
My favorite sewing machine is the Bernina 880. I take it everywhere with me, even abroad to courses. It can handle a lot. ☺)
I also own a Bernina overlock machine, which I use to sew clothes. I recently got a B330. I like to sew outside in the summer.
My greatest success to date is Nadelwelt, where I have already had the opportunity to exhibit four of my quilts under Pia Welsch. I am particularly proud of that.
