The narrow hemmer for straight stitch 4 mm # 64 is ideal for finishing hems on medium-weight fabrics. The presser foot performs several steps in a single sewing operation. The screw at the front of the presser foot ensures that the fabric edge is folded over twice. The fabric must not slip out of the screw during sewing. With a little practice, you will soon get the hang of it. Folding the fabric edge over twice prevents it from fraying later on. A guide in the sole of the foot guides the folded fabric to the stitch hole. Here, the fabric is sewn with a straight stitch to form a 4 mm wide, secure hem. The finished hem then glides easily under the foot, allowing for smooth sewing.
